Pumpkin Carving 2023, Happy Halloween!

It was October 30th, the Monday before Halloween, and I didn't have to work.  I bought a bottle of wine from the World Market earlier in the month.  Seeing as it says Vampire on the bottle, I thought it would be a good time to enjoy a glass while I carved a pumpkin for Halloween.

I had been wanting to rewatch Interview with the Vampire for a while and noticed that I had the DVD in my collection downstairs. I used Vudu to scan the barcode and paid for a digital copy so it would be easier to watch it anywhere. You can pay to upgrade from standard to HD and I've never actually bought a movie upgrade before, so I thought I'd see if the HD version was worth it.  To be honest, with a movie like this, I probably would've been fine just watching the DVD or just paying $2 for the standard digital copy instead of $5 for the HD, but whatevs.

My parents carved two pumpkins the day before I did, and they both ended up doing simple faces. I thought I'd add a face to mine, so they'd sort of match. I was thinking of doing a skull shape around the face by skinning it but didn't think it would fit around the mouth. I wanted to do some sexy looking eyes, so I put winged tips on the edges. I wanted to make a really big grin like a cheshire cat smile. I was going to do a bunch of teeth but decided to just do two fangs. However, as you can see, the second tooth broke off. I skinned the eyelids out and the eyes to give some more style. It was fun. I'd do more with skinning on the next pumpkin.

By the end of the movie, I had drunk almost the whole bottle of wine. I ended up passing out for a long while with Snow. Now I've got to do something with the pumpkin seeds. Happy Halloween!

I really wanted to fill some leaf bags. I found some for sale at Wal-Mart in Charlottesville.
